Welcome
The strength of our mission lies in its simplicity. To serve boys who live in public and subsidized housing in Atlanta - areas where boys make difficult choices at an early age. These boys are facing challenges at an early age for which they are unprepared. They are most in need of help and, at the same time, the most difficult to help.
Our program blends the personal (and lasting) influence of mentoring with the discipline (and fun) of scouting. It is a caring and challenging combination that encourages moral values and personal responsibility. The mentoring program establishes adult friendships in the workplace and places the primary focus on education. The scouting program provides role models and a structured system of
rewards and consequences within which boys learn to manage and discipline themselves together.

The Association works only with boys living in concentrated low income areas in Atlanta.

The PBA program combines those aspects of mentoring, scouting and individual assistance most useful in helping these boys. It is designed specifically for them.
Tight Volunteer Screening and Safety First
PBA runs a strict screening process and safety program. It has had no incidents, reports of abuse or serious accidents since its startup 15 years ago in 1994.
Professional Management
The program reflects the lean, cost effective results-oriented operational methods of its sponsoring companies. PBA owns no facilities and has no paid fundraising apparatus. Insurance and risk management are handled systematically and dispassionately by the risk management professionals of the sponsoring companies.
