Atlanta 5th Ward Boys Association
The Atlanta 5th Ward Boys Association was formed in 2007, through a partnership between the Coca-Cola Company and Antioch North Baptist Church to serve boys in the Herndon Homes, English Avenue and Bluffs neighborhoods.
Service Area
They have been joined thus far by the Taylor Printing Company, Moxie Interactive and the staff of the Georgia World Congress Center to serve a growing group now numbering 50 boys.
With the closing of the Herndon Homes community, service is now concentrated in the Section 8 apartment complexes and neighborhoods to the west of Northside Drive - a concentrated low income area teeming with children.
The innovative role of Antioch Baptist Church in housing, operating and covering the work of local businesses is central to the developent of this chapter. Antioch and Coke, in partnership with the Phoenix Boys Association, offer a model for church/business cooperation in meeting a critical need.

MENTORING COMPANY - Taylor Printing
Taylor Printing started with the 5th Ward Association in 2007. Boys mentored at Taylor have not only done their homework but participated in the development of calendars, brochures, business pamphlets and the wide range of servives provided by Taylor. They have observed and learned from the operation and maintenance of machinery, and from the general working atmosphere and ethic of a lean long established family owned company.
MENTORING COMPANY - Moxie Interactive
Moxie Interactive is a full service web site design company operating out of a remodeled old warehouse. The informal atmosphere and dynamic young technically sophisticated staff have hosted a group of boys since 2008. They provide both a unique set of opportunities and possibilities and a warm supportive setting for hard work.
MENTORING COMPANY - Georgia World Congress Center
A dozen members of the GWCC staff have taken on mentoring relationships since late 2008 and given boys an inside view of one of Atlanta's most interesting public institutions. With an opportunity to view Centennial Park , the Convention Center and the catacombs of the Georgia Dome, boys are developing a sense of the scene behind the scene and the serious work that goes on in supporting a wide range of public exhibition services.
